Meet the Board

Reed Braman, President

Reed Braman (President) is the Director of Energy Development and Management for Erie County. In this role he is responsible for projects to increase energy efficiency and procure renewable energy. As President of Green Springville, Reed has worked with the local school district to install a green roof on a new building, coordinated with the Village of Springville to install electric vehicle charging stations, and led a community campaign to adopt residential solar panels. Reed is a trustee for the Village of Springville and a NYS Code Enforcement Officer.

Ashley Rae Lowry (Vice President) is a staff reporter for the Springville Journal, a small business owner, and a former Assistant District Attorney. Ashley serves as Vice President of Green Springville, and sits on the Oversight Committee for the Springville Community Trout Pond Renovation Project, a collaboration with the Springville Field and Stream Club. She has organized a used clothing drive, and manages an annual sale of rain barrels and compost bins. Ashley maintains active memberships in the WBASNY WNY and the Erie County Bar Associations, serving as a WBASNY WNY state delegate, chairs the Judge’s Choice Committee, co-chairs the Criminal Law Committee, and serves as a representative on the state Judiciary Committee, as well as on the Nominating Committee for the Erie County Bar Association. After initiating the Officer “Skip” McDougald Adopt-a-School Project at the Buffalo Alternative School, Ashley and other members of the DA’s Office planted a Grassroots Garden at the school, teaching students and staff how to grow their own food.

Seth Wochensky, Treasurer

Seth Wochensky (Treasurer) is the Executive Director of Springville Center for the Arts. As Director, he recently oversaw the implementation of over $1 million in capital projects, including seven simultaneous state grants from different agencies. Those projects encompassed such challenges as collapsed roofs, major asbestos remediation, stringent SHPO requirements, volunteer components, historic tax credits, and limited bridge financing. In addition to arts administration he is an artist in his own right, having appeared on stage, exhibited artwork, completed large scale installations and produced several CD’s. He previously produced several award-winning short films and has production credits including MTV, The Travel Channel, ABC, and The History Channel. He previously served as a grant panelist for New York State Council on the Arts and as a member of the Coalition on West Valley Nuclear Wastes. 

Devin Kowalske (Secretary) is a Master Data Specialist at Curbell Plastics. Serving on the Board of Green Springville is just one of the activities that keeps her involved in the community. She is also active with the WNY Sustainable Business Roundtable and serves on the Planning Board for the Village of Springville.

Joe Lowry, Secretary

Joe Lowry (Board Member) is currently President & CEO of Encorus Group, an engineering, testing, and inspection firm. He is also cofounder of UNOVA Coworking, the first Coworking space developed to support the Western New York Southern Tier community. In addition to his role as Secretary of Green Springville, Joe is also a Trustee to the Hamburg and Lake Shore Public Libraries, and currently holds the position of Board Vice President. He has spoken and volunteered at various grade schools for programs related to science and technology topics. Joe was recently awarded the Buffalo Business First “40 Under 40,” Springville’s “4 under 40,” the “Buffalo 612′ C-Level Executive,” and the “Young Engineer of the Year” awards.
